As everyone following Save Our Lakes Now realizes we have been pleading with the Corps to change the drought plan by limiting releases from Lake Thurmond to 3600 cfs (3100 between October to February) any time the lakes are 2' below full pool and continue at this rate until the lakes return to full pool. The Corps just gave us a slap in the face by increasing releases from Thurmond to 4200 cfs with the lakes 2' away from finally reaching full pool. This release rate is certainly not needed for downstream interests because the river is swollen from all the recent rains.
